Driving Out the Spirit of Fear and His Companions by MDommel Comment (0)

2 Timothy 1:7 {NKJV}                                                                                                                    For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Over the past two years I have noticed that the enemy has increased his attacks on the Fellowship of Believers throughout the world.  The spirit the enemy has leading these attacks is the spirit of fear.

Signs Wonders and Spiritual Gifts by MDommel Comment (0)

"Signs and wonders is a Biblical term for the demonstration of thr Kingdom in the ministry of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus evidenced this in healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead, multiplying food, having knowledge of the secret thoughts of people, and control over natural forces.  These signs and wonders continued in the experience of the early church.  Acts records healing, people raised from the dead, the casying out of demons, the prophetic gifts, dreams and visions, and sudden deaths."  From, "breakthrough" by Derek Morpew

Cessationism                                                                                                                       "The age of the church is said to be a different and distinct 'dispensation' from the age of the apostle.  This belief is cessationism."                                              From, "breakthrough" by Derek Morphew

Life Through God's Eyes by MDommel Comment (0)

2 Timothy 2:16-17 tells us that "All Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, correcting, rebuking, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

As I spend time in God's Word each day I learn more and more that equips me for the good work He has called and assigned me to. Each day is a day of teaching and training, and at times correction and rebuke. I have come to see that all of this is beneficial to my spiritual growth and formation and my preparation to serve God in the forceful advancement of His Kingdom {Matthew 11:12}.

To Be a Disciple 2 by MDommel Comment (0)

In the first part of this post I wrote that “we are to follow Jesus — be His disciples — in the same way that we are to love Him — as Jesus says in Mark 12:30 ‘with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’”

And, “that it is possible to become this type of disciple — this type of Christ-follower — but not without help. We cannot become this without help.”

From Friction to Fame by MDommel Comment (0)

Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

As I was sitting in church this morning I began rubbing the palms of my hand against my jeans. I noticed that the longer I did this the warmer my hands and my legs became. The rubbing was causing a friction that was generating warmth.

To Be a Disciple by MDommel Comment (0)

I love doing research — and in my research on the topic of discipleship I came across this.

William Barclay — a well known and well respected 20th century author, radio and television presenter, Church of Scotland minister and Professor of Divinity and Biblical Criticism at the University of Glasgow — said this about being a disciple of Jesus –
